ASSIGNMENT TITLE: INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR CONDITION SURVEY OF ELLEGERINI AND KIPKARREN DAMS

The Lake Victoria North Water Services Board (LVNWSB) has received financing frqrn the World Bank toward the cost of the Water and Sanitation Service Improvement Project Additional Financing (WaSSIP AF), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The individual consulting services (“the Services”) include but not limited to the following:

To conduct the safety evaluation of Ellegerini and Kipkarren dams embankment, spillway, reservoir rim and other appurtences. To conduct stability analysis of the Ellegirini and Kipkarren dams and appurtenant structures, assess the required hydraulic capacity of me spHlway based on updated hydrological assessment. To assess the downstream hazards by potential dam failure and to recommend required remedial measures to address identified dam safety issues.

The LVNWSB now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest m providing the Services. Interested Individual Consultants should provide information demonstrating that (hey have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are:

i.   Individual consultant must be a registered dam safety expert with at least 15 years experience in design, construction supervision, Operation and maintenance of dams
ii.  The Consultant must also be in full knowledge of the current trends and practices in dam safety engineering

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers (January 2011) (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultants Selection (ICS) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
