REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI NO: MCG/011/2013-2014 CONSULTANCY ON SAND DAMS

The Murang’a County Government intends to engage a firm to provide consultancy services on Sand Dams

BACKGROUND

The Murang’a county Government intends to have a consultant to provide world class standard of managing Sand Dams.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The main objective of the assignment is to have an audit of the existing rivers, quantity of sand in the rivers and their status.

SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The scope of the assignment includes but not limited to;

i.          Feasibility Study for all viable site for commercial sand harvesting.

ii.         Cost benefits analysis for the undertaking of this venture.

iii.        Establish ownership status of the locations/site identified.

iv.        Obtain licenses from the relevant authorities for undertaking this venture.

v.         Quantification of the sand which can harvested in each of the dams proposed

vi.        Preparation of BOQ’s, particular conditions and scope of the works.

vii.       Public participation in the feasibility has to be demonstrated and undertaken when carrying out this exercise.

viii.      Consultation with the employer when undertaking this exercise

The Murang’a County Government now invites interested firms or persons to express their interest in the above assignment. The interested firms are required to demonstrate that they have:-

1)     A valid certificate of registration

2)        Current Tax Compliance Certificate

3)        Expertise in sand dams’ knowledge.

4)        Prior Experience of similar projects of same scope

5)        Lead consultant to have worked in similar projects for over 10 yrs

Shortlisted firms will be issued with a Request for Proposal (RFP) document with Terms of Reference. Complete expression of interest documents in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked on top with the name of this consulting should be addressed to:-
