The Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) in association with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in United Kingdom (UK), the African Real Estate Society (AFRES) and The University of Nairobi (UoN)) held the 2015 Eastern Africa Real Estate Infrastructure Development & Finance Conference on 8th- 9th July 2015, Nairobi. The annual event was crowned with a golf tournament on July 10, 2015 at Vet Lab Sports Club, Kabete.
The Conference thematic topic included: financing strategies for green real estate and the forces driving tenant demand for green space, economic realities for sustainable real estate, assessing risk and rewards in the current real estate markets, innovative approaches to infrastructure project financing, real estate innovative financing mechanisms, REITS, environmental stewardship in real estate management and the impact of recent land reforms and legislative framework on real estate development.
In addition, the conference had sessions that discussed on Standards and Code of Ethics in Valuation, Real Estate Financing, Property Management, Legislative Regimes in Real Estate & Mega Infrastructure Development and Supportive Infrastructure.
The event attracted different target audiences like Real Estate Researchers, Academic and Professionals Real Estate and Investment Appraisal Experts , Private Equity Firms, Capital Fund Providers for Mega Infrastructure Projects, Infrastructure financing firms, Property Owners, Mortgage Providers, Property Developers, Manufacturers and Suppliers of building materials and services providers.
In 2014, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Institution of Surveyors of Kenya and African Real Estate Society (AfRES) organized a very successful Real Estate Conference entitled Real Estate Financing in Eastern Africa. The conference was attended by 84 delegates from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Mauritius.
