Colas East Africa promoting safe products in construction

Colas East Africa invited Kenya Engineer Management team to their end of year closing party on December 16, 2015 at the Boma Hotel, Nairobi. The well organized party was attended by clients of Colas together with management team of Colas East Africa. It aimed at closing the year in style after a successful year.

Colas East Africa, Managing Director, Wellington Mwale gave a brief presentation on Colas E.A. “Colas has always been in the forefront of Bitumen Technology in East Africa. Some of the products we manufacture comprise of emulsions, PMB,( polymer modified bitumen), cutback, coldmix asphalt, slurry seal, bitumen, roofing bitumen and asphalt. We have also colflex-sp, highly modified bitumen specified by client which Colas manufactured and supplied 1,500MT for the project.”

“We are continually striving to ensure that all personnel at our various Colas sites understand the importance of safety procedures. This is done through vigorous training programmes to give our employees the proper knowledge to enable them work safely and efficiently,” Mwale added.

He further noted that they have bitumen sprayer, which available as an ultra-modern computerized sprayer truck that is able to operate with great spraying accuracy and reliability. Colas bitumen spray comes with well-trained drivers and operators to ensure quality of work.

Colas products have been used in game changing projects like rehabilitation of the JKIA Runaway by SinoHydro and Southern Bypass Surface dressing work by China Roads and Bridge Corporations (CRBC) at Kikuyu town Interchange section. Additionally, they plan to use their products on projects in Nakuru and Nyeri after a special request by the Counties to repair roads and construction.

Colas East Africa is a locally registered company engaged in the manufacturing bitumen products and binders for road construction, roofing and waterproofing materials .The Company has been in operation in East Africa since 1956 with a head office in South Africa. Other branches include Namibia, Uganda and Zambia.
