Total Kenya has introduced a special 4T 20W-50 oil for motorcycles. The oil can be used for four-stroke motorcycle engines of any capacity and for gearbox lubrication.
More than 75 per cent of new machines have 4-Stroke engines indicating that the lubrication requirement for motorcycles is changing rapidly. For a long time the two-stroke engine powered bikes have been using 2T oil.
As a result of lack of suitable product, owners of bikes are forced to use conventional motor vehicle engine oils instead of motorcycle specific lubricants. This poises challenge as the engines of these machines are different from those of cars in terms of size, power, tolerances and conditions.
The lubricant, suitable for wet clutch transmissions will available at all company service stations and retail outlets.
