DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING OF DIGITAL TRUNKING RADIO SYSTEM AND SOLAR/ POWER
BACK UP SYSTEMS;
KWS/OIT/ICT/25/2013-2014
The Government of the Republic of Kenya has received funding from the French Government for the upgrade of KWS analogue radio network to a digital radio network as well as the installation of solar power backup systems within Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) operational areas. KWS is a state corporation established by an Act of Parliament Cap 376 with the mandate to conserve and manage wildlife in Kenya, and to enforce related laws and regulations.
The radio communication system being purchased under this tender will be non-proprietary and expandable and will be installed in Tsavos, Central Rift and Southern conservation areas. It is expected that the implementation of the solutions are bound to create a highly efficient radio system that is environmental friendly.
Kenya Wildlife Service now invites sealed tenders from eligible candidates for the supply, delivery and installation of digital trunking radio system and solar/ power back up systems.
Interested eligible candidates may obtain further information and inspect the tender documents at the Procurement Office, KWS Headquarters, Lang’ata Road, Tel 0726610508/9, 0735663421, or E-mail: hps@kws.go.ke between 9.00am and 4.00pm during normal working days
A complete set of tender documents may be obtained upon payment of a non – refundable fee of Kshs 5,000.00 in cash or bankers cheque at cash office, KWS HQS, or downloaded from the KWS website (www.kws.go.ke) but must ensure payment for the tender is made before the tender closing date.
Mandatory Site visits have been set as follows:
Tsavo East National Park (Park HQ, 9:00am) Monday, 30th September, 2013
Amboseli National Park (Park HQ, 9:00am) Wednesday, 2nd October, 2013.
Nakuru National Park (Park HQ, 9:00am) Friday, 4th October, 2013.
Thereafter, a pre-bid meeting will be held at KWS HQs, Nairobi, Chui Court at 10.00Am on Tuesday, 8th October, 2013.
Tenders MUST be accompanied by a bid security of Kshs.5,000,000.00 (Five Million) or 42,735 EURO’S (Fourty two thousand, seven hundred and thirty five) in the form of a bank guarantee from a reputable bank, and a copy of the official receipt for the purchase of this tender obtained from the KWS cash office.
The completed tenders in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked “Tender No. KWS/OIT/ICT/25/2013-2014 for the Design, Supply, Installation & Commissioning of Digital Trunking Radio System and Solar /Power Back up Systems” shall be addressed to:

The tender MUST be deposited in the Tender Box located at the main reception of KWS Headquarters, Lang’ata Road on or before 12 NOON, on 31st October, 2013.Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of bidders who choose to attend.
