As part of an ongoing effort to support environmental initiatives and while reiterating its continuous support towards making “Life’s Good”, LG Electronics (LG) has donated Kshs100,000 to Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) in support of local heritage and environmental conservation programs at Nairobi National Park.
More than 40 LG employees in partnership with over 250 Friends of Nairobi National Park (FONNAP) also took part in a clean up exercise at Nairobi National Park to mark the World Environment Day ahead of 5th June – World wide celebration day- aligning with UNEP’s theme of ‘Connecting people to Nature’.
Speaking during the cheque handover and ahead of clean up exercise at Nairobi National Park, LG Managing Director in charge of East and Central Africa, Janghoon Chung reitereated that LG is committed to promoting the understanding that people are central to changing attitudes towards environmental conservation, and added that LG will spare no effort in advocating partnerships that will ensure preservation of the environment for a clean, safer and more prosperous future.

LG strongly believes in responsible environmental stewardship and in line with this has identified environmental conservation as one among the global CSR pillars. Staying true to its corporate social responsibility slogan – Life’s Good with LG – the company aims to continue to actively contribute and sustain its integrated CSR initiatives in 2017 by continuing to support and engage with various community initiatives across the Middle East and Africa region.
The company actively participates and contributes to global initiatives like World Environment Day with over 41 business sites in 24 countries across the globe participating in this global initiative last year.
Having first announced its environmental vision in 1994, LG has since been practicing environmental management through researching and introducing environmentally friendly products and by reducing the environmental impact that occurs during business activities.
