The Institution of Engineers of Kenya has called for papers for its 24th IEK International Conference and symposium to be held on the 10th to 12th May 2017 in Nairobi County. The conference provides a podium for engineers and other stakeholders to share their experiences in the industry and offer a networking platform. The conference venue is Intercontinental hotel.
The conference provides a platform for engineers, academicians, industrialists and associated professionals from Eastern Africa and other regions to share experiences, challenges and new knowledge on engineering. The event features a comprehensive technical programme with distinguished keynote speakers. The past conferences included guests from Nigeria, China, Uganda, Namibia, Tanzania and South Africa.
The Theme for this conference is “Engineering Innovations and Strategic Solutions”. The Thematic areas include: Renewable Energy, ethics and Governance, General, transmission and distribution of Electric power, project planning and financing, engineering education, disaster preparedness, food processing and value addition to agricultural products, electronic waste management, quality control and standards, transportation, housing, building materials, dispute resolution, mining, telecommunications, ICT, Informal sector, manufacturing, environment and climate change, sanitation, water resources and management, farm mechanization and machinery and irrigation and machinery.
Interested authors are invited to submit abstracts by 1st March 2017. The accepted abstracts will be acknowledged by 15th March for the Authors to submit the full papers (Maximum 5 pages) with the original contribution by 15th April 2017 for peer review. The paper format should be in Microsoft word, script size 12 and must include a 100 word abstract with the names of the Authors and their affiliation. Paper publication will be done by 5th may 2017.
