SOUTHERN NYANZA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
INTERNATIONAL TENDER NOTICE
The Government of Kenya has received funds from International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) towards financing Southern Nyanja Community Development Project. The project objectives are to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods of the poor communities in selected areas of seven districts. I.e. Nyamira North, Rachuonyo North, Homabay, Ndiwa, Nyatike, Kuria West and Suba.
The project intends to apply part of the proceeds in Rachuonyo North District as follows:-

The project now invites sealed tenders from eligible contractors for the above tender. Interested firms may obtain complete set of tender documents from the Project Management, Unit offices located at eh DIDC building behind the District Commissioners office Homabay during working hours, upon payment of nonrefundable fee of Ksh. 5, 000 payable to District Treasury – Homabay. Tender documents can be downloaded fort the project website http://www.sncdp.or.ke
Completed tender documents in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked with respective Tender Numbers to be addressed to:

Or be deposited at the Homabay District Commissioner’s tender box so as to reach them latest by 10. 30 am on 8th November 2012. The tender documents will be opened immediately after the closing time at eh DIDIC Hall in the presence of bidders who choose to attend.
Bids not received and not opened in public at the time of opening shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances. Prices quoted must remain valid for 120 days from the date of opening. Prices quoted must be expressed in Kenya shillings and must include applicable Government Taxes.
Bidders must provide proof of registration with appropriate professional bodies such and other necessary licenses.
Tender submission must be in hard copies upon payment of the amount specified against the tender. (Two copies each for technical proposals. Technical and Financial proposals. Technical and Financial proposals should be separately sealed and placed in an outer envelope and then marked with the tender number. The financial proposals should be marked with “Do not open with technical proposals). The applicants should also m=submit business registration certificates, vat certificates, PIN numbers and Bid bond equivalent of 2 percent of the tendered sum, form a reputable bank or insurance company.
Canvassing and any form of Corruption intended to influence the outcome of the whole or part of the process will lead to automatic disqualification irrespective of the procurement stage.
The project reserves the right to accept or reject any tender and to cancel the tendering process at any time prior to award of contract, without thereby incurring any liability of any obligation to inform the affected bidders of reasons for such action.
There will be a compulsory pre-tender sit visit on 23rd October 2012 starting from the project offices. 7.45 am.
