TENDER INVITATION NOTICE

PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF TSEIKURU MUSEUM

Tenders are invited for the construction of the proposed Tseikuru Museum at Tseikuru Mwingi County and Associated Specialists sub-contracts.

Interested contractor who are registered in relevant trades and categories (proof of registration required) and have carried out similar works in the last five (5) years, may obtain tender documents from the Principal Procurement Officers office, national Museums of Kenya Headquarters – Museum Hill Road. The nonrefundable fee is to be paid in cash or Bankers Cheque at the cash office before 4.30pm in normal working days.
 
Interested Bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as minimum, supported by relevant documents at submission will be considered for further evaluation.

i) Proof of works of similar magnitude and complexity undertaken in the last five years.
ii) The Bid Bond must be in form of a Bank Guarantee from a reputable Bank or approved insurance company.
iii) Adequate equipment and key personnel for the specified types of works
iv) Sound financial standing and adequate access to bank Credit Line
v) Confidential History of the company (both court and arbitration cases)
vi) Confidential Business Questionnaire
vii) Tax Compliance Certificate
 
Further, tenders form the following tenders shall be treated as non-responsive and therefore subject to automatic disqualification.

i) A tender form a Tenderer who’s on – going projects is / are behind schedule and without approved extension of time.
ii) A tender form a Tenderer who has been served with a default notice on on-going projects or a tenderer who has been terminated in a Government Contract in the past and has not been reinstated in the registrar of contractors
iii) A tender form a tenderer with on – going projects exceeding four (4) in number, regardless of the total value of the outstanding works

Tenders, in plain sealed envelope marked tender number and bearing no indication of the tender should be addressed to:

And placed in the Tender Box located at the Louise Leakey Building Reception are so as to reach the above address not later than 25th October 2012 at 12. 00 pm. Submitted bids will be opened publicly in the Old Board Room soon after the closing date and time in the presence of tenderers / representatives who choose to attend.
 
Prices quoted must be valid for 120 days, as well as the bid security from the date of opening.
 
The National Museums of Kenya reserves the right to accept or reject any tender without giving reasons for the rejection and does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
